St. Barnabas is well recognised for the quality of counselling we offer. We assist all our counsellors with the provision of in-house group supervision, community meetings and training with guest speakers.

Our counsellors all have a counselling qualification to advanced/post-graduate diploma level or equivalent, or are completing their training.

If you are BACP registered or are in the last year of a recognised diploma course please download our application form and send with a covering letter and CV.

Volunteer Receptionists

Volunteer receptionists make a huge difference to our friendly, caring Centre and helping our clients to feel welcome is a key role. We seek volunteers who are sensitive to our clients needs and who recognise the importance of confidentiality. Your duties will include: meeting clients personally, taking phone calls, entering client bookings and liaising with counsellors etc. Helpful support and training will be given in what can often be varied, interesting and rewarding work.

You will need to be available for a minimum of four hours per week.

If you would like more information please contact 01603 625222 or email admin@stbcc.org.uk

If you would like to apply please download our application form here.

Trustees

We need your experience!

The St Barnabas Counselling Centre is a successful, well-established and financially sound charity serving Norwich and Norfolk. Every year hundreds of people from all walks of life benefit from sessions with our counsellors. But without the support and skilled contributions from all sorts of other people, counsellors could not do their vital work.  Our Trustees ensure that the Centre is managed responsibly and that resources are directed where they will do the most good. Trustees must be aware of the “broader picture”; how the Centre might develop and how it might react to changes within society and within the therapeutic world.

Why not make your skills and experience available to the St Barnabas Counselling Centre as a Trustee? We are seeking to expand our Trustee Team and are looking to recruit a number of new Trustees, including a new Treasurer. Our Trustees are drawn from a variety of backgrounds including medicine, business, psychotherapy and education and we would welcome expressions of interest from anyone whose life experience has given them some wisdom and relevant skills.  You should enjoy working as part of a team, be available for evening meetings at least once every six weeks and be in sympathy with the aims and the ethos at St Barnabas.

Why not have an informal chat with our Centre Director, Cathy Austin, to see if this might be for you?  There is nothing more satisfying than using your skills and experience to help others!

Please contact Cathy at director@stbcc.org.uk
